MG Windsor EV is India’s fastest-selling EV, topping 50,000 unit sales
JSW MG Motor India has announced a significant achievement for its Windsor EV model, which has surpassed 50,000 units sold in the Indian market. This rapid uptake establishes the Windsor as the first electric vehicle (EV) in India to reach this sales figure in a record time of under 400 days.
The milestone underscores a growing customer acceptance of electric mobility in the country. Commenting on the success, Anurag Mehrotra, MD of JSW MG Motor India, stated that the initial goal was to provide a vehicle that was practical, stylish and value-driven to help accelerate EV adoption. He emphasized that the Windsor EV’s quick success “marks a landmark moment in India’s EV journey and demonstrates that customers are embracing this transition with enthusiasm.”
The Windsor EV is offered with a choice of two battery packs: 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh. The larger battery configuration provides an impressive driving range of up to 449 km on a single charge. Powering the vehicle is a single electric motor that delivers 134 BHP and 200 Nm of torque.
In related news, MG recently introduced the Windsor EV Inspire Edition, a limited-run model restricted to 300 units. This special edition is priced at Rs. 16.65 lakhs (ex-showroom) and includes the option of a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering for potential buyers.
